Rainy Tips

When you are outside, you'll know it will rain when Raindrops Keep On You Head

So before you go out, you should bring your Umbrella

But when you are caught outside, get Through the Rain

And when you found a shade, try to Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain

Just make sure that the shade where you are, has no holes in the roof. Additional tip: Find something to do.

But if you can't find a shade, Enjoy the Rain!

Call Me Maybe

One of this year's popular American song. This was sung by Carly Rae Jepsen.

There are lots of music videos, not just the one above.

World Tour!

This post was inspired from some small talks with my friends. We talked about to where in the world we want to be. I had made plans already to which I glad share on this blog post.

First on the list is South Korea.
City of Infinite Discoveries, Seoul, where the old meets the new
Go backpacking around Southeast Asia. Starting off at Singapore.
The Merlion, the symbol of Singapore
Then going up to Malaysia.
Petronas Towers (in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Next, Thailand
Bangkok
Later, Cambodia
Angkor Wat Temple
And the last stop is Vietnam
Halong Bay
I also thought of going to Europe such as Venice in Italy to ride in the gondolas and venturing in the waterways of the city. Eating spaghetti and pizza in Rome and visiting St. Peter's Basilica.
Venice
In Paris, drinking an expensive coffee while reading a book outside and glancing at the Eiffel Tower.
Parisian cafe
And how about going for a Caribbean cruise?

And many more places around the world!

Hitler Reacts

Every time there's an issue, creative minds come to play. There are in the form of edited pictures, graphics or photoshops. But there are some that edits video. Probably one of the famous parodies ever seen on youtube is some scenes from the movie "Der Untergang". The scenes were taken (they're almost the same scene) and put subtitles below it for humor purposes only. Of course, the main character is the Fuhrer. Here are some of the "Hitler React" which parodies some of the talk-of-the-town issues and personalities. Spaß haben!

Twelve Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country

First of all, Happy 114th Independence Day to all of Filipinos ( not only here in the Philippines but also to those who lived anywhere in the world, may it  be an overseas worker, immigrants, half or Filipino at-heart). I was supposed to post about who made independence possible, however, something pops out of my mind so I post about "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country". I always saw a poster of this in our university library before going out. Sadly, I haven't got hold of the booklet authored by Atty. Alexander Lacson. The things are simple indeed and one can really can do it. These are the things that we always, if not, sometimes violate, neglect or do it for granted. And yet, they are the things that could really help. Only that, we don't know it will or it's just we're not looking at the other side.

Anyway, I found this in the link below. This was from an email and shared by a thread starter.

THERE'S a booklet making the rounds in Metro Manila that every Filipino who
loves his country should get hold of and read, and hopefully put the points
it raises into practice, in order to help our nation...

"Twelve (12) Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country," by
Alexander Ledesma Lacson, may be a "voice in the wilderness"; but as Fr.
Ruben Tanseco, S.J. puts it, what Alex proposes are "very concrete,
practical and doable" actions for us ordinary Filipinos.

A simple enumeration of these "twelve little things" will not do justice to
the work of Alex. You've got to read the whole text, but I shall try to
compress a few lines for some of the items mentioned.

1. Follow traffic rules -- Why is that the most important? The answer is
simple. Traffic rules are the simplest of our laws. If we learn to follow
them, it will be the lowest form of national discipline that we can develop.
Since it is totally without monetary cost, it should be easy for us to
comply with, and therefore should provide a good start.

2. Whenever you buy or pay for anything, always ask for an official receipt.
-- If a seller does not issue an official receipt when you buy a product,
the seller may or may not remit the tax to the government. Without an O.R.,
there is no record of the sale transaction, and the tax that you paid may
not be remitted to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

3. Do not buy smuggled goods. Buy local, buy Filipino. -- It may not be good
economics to buy 100 percent local products. What I suggest is for us to take
a "50-50" buying attitude. This means that we must develop the attitude of
using 50 percent of our budget for local products and the other 50 percent
for imported choices.

4. When you talk to others, especially foreigners, speak positively of our
race and our country -- this is best addressedto the rich and the middle
class in our country, who have contact with the outside world. It is they who
talk to, dine or deal with foreigners either here or abroad. It is what they
say and do which creates impressions about us among foreigners.

5. Respect your traffic officer, policeman, soldier and other public
servants -- There is nothing like the power of respect. It makes a person
proud. It makes one feel honorable. At the same time, courtesy to others is
good manners. It is class and elegance and kindness. It is seeing the value
and dignity in the other man. It is, in fact, a mark of a most profound
education.

6. Do not litter. Dispose your garbage properly. Segregate.

Recycle.Conserve. -- As Louis Armstrong says in his song: "I see trees of
green, red roses, too, I see them bloom for me and you and I think to
myself, what a wonderful world."

7. Support your church. (or charitable/ civic organizations - :-)

8. During elections, do your solemn duty. -- Honesty, more than a masteral
or doctorate degree, is what gives credibility. And credibility is essential
because it is a leader's link to the people. It is what makes the people look
to one direction, follow a common vision, and perform a uniform act. In
short, credibility is what makes people follow the leader.

9. Pay your employees well. -- No exercise is better for the human heart
than to reach down and lift someone else up. This truly defines a successful
life. For success is the sum, not of our earthly possessions, but of how
many times we have shown love and kindness to others.

10. Pay your taxes. -- In 2003, P83 billion was collected from individual
income taxes. But 91 percent of this amount came from salaried workers from
the government and private sector, people who had no choice since their
income taxes were withheld mandatorily. Only P7 billion of the P83 billion
came from businessmen and professionals like doctors, lawyers, accountants
and architects,among others.

11. Adopt a scholar or adopt a poor child. -- You can make a difference in
the future of our country by making a difference in the world of children.

12. Be a good parent. Teach your kids to follow the law and to love our
country. -- Today's children will someday rule and lead this world. But
whether they will be bad rulers or good leaders will depend largely on how
we raise them today. Our future is in the hearts and minds of our children

Pacquaio vs. Bradley

Surely, a lot of us are shocked about  the result is. Pacquaio was defeated by the desert storm, Tim Bradley.

No one expected that Tim Bradley would grab the World Welterweight Championship. Even I, as well, who really made a guess that Bradley would be knock out at Round 8, was surprise with the result. The fight was decided via a split decision in favor of Tim Bradley.

The score card in the TV screen contradicts the outcome.

The result causes an uproar especially in the social media. In Facebook, a lot of my friends were astounded with the result. Some posted that Manny should have won and some express their dissatisfaction with the result. In Twitter, celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber had already express their own views about the fight. We could expect that this would be the trending topic, not only today but in the few days to come.

In the streets, motorists and by-standers, who had watched the live pay-per-view of the fight, had discuss about the fight and the result.

So what's next? It is speculated that there will be Pacquaio-Bradley 2 that could possibly be held in November this year.

So early.

Is boxing, not only a sport, but also a cash cow? Because a lot of money will be poured out thanks to pay-per-views, fee for the entrance ticket for the venue and some alloted fees . Lots will be benefited including the boxing promoter, the venue and of course, the boxers. As usual, there are gambling around. Those who had bet for Bradley, today, gets the money.

Anyway, Pacquaio is still the winner to the Filipinos and those who support him worldwide.

Let's Go To West! (Pinamungahan)

For my last stretch before school's gonna start, I have finally made an out-of-town vacation even for just one day.  Welcome to Pinamungahan!

Before going down from the mountains, a scenery of
Brgy. Lamac, Pinamungahan with Negros Island  far off
The trip to Brgy. Lamac, Pinamungahan took about four hours, instead of two, because the rain pours down  and some stops are made. Together with some family members, we journey through plateaus and mountains and follow roads that are like roller coasters, not to mention, incomplete because there are portions wherein it is not cemented nor asphalted, with a multicab. Finally, after four hours, we reached the place.

The barangay is quite small unlike the ones seen in the cities and there are plenty of people. As expected, houses are located not too near with each other. The barangay road is not also cemented or asphalted and very narrow. Cellphone companies cannot reach their signal in this place except Smart Talk N' Text. Ice rain had also happened here just last month. After resting a bit, buying goats and chickens and eating an early supper, we go in to the barangay's tourist attraction, Hidden Valley.

As the name implies, the said mountain resort sits on a valley. The entrance fee is very cheap unlike those in the city: P30 for children and P50 for adults.

Taken from the parking lot of the said mountain resort
The mountain resort is owned and manage by the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The resort's snack bar with mountains and valleys in the background
An adult pool
There are two adult pools and two kiddie pools around the resort. They are not located adjacently with each other though. There is an additional fee for using the pool.

Kiddie Pool
Rooms and cottages
Because the place is located away from the bustling, noisy, crowded and polluted city, this is perfect for those who would like to go away. There are few people who would visit here but occasionally, there are none. This is a perfect get-away especially for those who would like to retreat or to be with nature. Even celebrities are very welcome. There is also a cave and a waterfall, a few walks from the mountain resort. However, we don't get a chance to take a glimpse of it because it is getting dark.
Small pond
Hawaii?
Anyway, we finished up until six and traveled way home for two hours. Along the way, it was cold, silent and dark as expected. There are lights from houses along the way and noise coming from some animals such as cicadas and frogs. Luckily, I've got to see some fireflies flickers along some trees. Amazing!
