The Fault in Our Stars trailer

Finally, the movie trailer of one of the best-selling novel of John Green is out! The Fault in Our Stars.

I have read the novel through e-book before. And this movie version excites me. It is a love story of Hazel and Augustus, both have cancer. Will this movie version is as equal as the novel?

The movie's release date is June 6, 2014.

Thanks to Facebook, I finally saw the video that my colleague was talking about this morning.

I don't know how I would react, exactly. When he throws down the question, why is he handsome, I just burst laughing here. Kailan kaya naging sumpa ang ka-gwapuhan? Kidding aside. Then it was serious. And he started to mention about the hardships of being gwapo that is, girls having crush on him, making him depressed. I guess that he doesn't like the attention he got that time. Then he got involved into church and knows the purpose behind his being gwapo, (just like any purpose here of everything here on Earth.) Oh well, is he just talking something with sense? or he is just bragging?

Here's the tip: Ang pagiging gwapo, inborn. Ang pagiging pogi, napag-aaralan!

SmallTalk: Axe Peace: Make Love, Not War Ad

This advertisement from Axe has caught my attention last night. Unlike most Axe TV commercials where women are depicted of having strong attraction to men who used Axe, this one took another route. It is by putting men (acts as soldiers and military leaders) showing their love to their partners on the way they can and a tagline, “Make Love, Not War”. This is in line with their new product, Axe Peace.

SmallTalk: Tips sa Pagtitipid

Tamang-tama ang post na ito para sa New Year. I know most of you may New Year's Resolution na, "magtitipid ako", "mag-sasave ako ng (amount) this year" ganyan.

1. Monitor your expenses. Ito ang pinakauna mong gawin. Monitor your expenses carefully.

2. Cut your expenses. Since na-monitor mo na at na-analyze, it's time that you cut your expenses. Don't spend too much on luxury and things na hindi mo naman kailangan. Kung iiwasan ng isang smoker ang paninigarilyo ng isang packet ng sigarilyo araw-araw, malamang, he can save P12,000 a year and not to mention, safe ang kalusugan niya at kalusugan ng ibang tao.

3. Avoid emotional spending. Answer: Pupunta sa mall at mag-shop til you drop. Now, don't spend too much dahil you're feeling something especially anger or sadness. Tendency is you spend more. You spend more and more on things kasi you're not feeling well emotionally at subconsciously, gusto mong mawala na ito. Yes, mawawala nga pero it's temporary. Again, don’t spend because you are not emotionally well but rather, spend wisely.

4. Save. May bank account ka ba? According to statistics from BSP (2012), about 8 out of 10 heads of  Filipino households ang walang bank account. Importante ang pag-iimpok for future use such as education at emergency. The mindset of most people pagdating sa pag-iipon, ganito ang equation: SAVINGS = INCOME - EXPENSES. Supposedly, it should be like this: EXPENSES = INCOME - SAVINGS. Pay yourself first bago ang mga expenses mo. Open a bank account now. How about coin banks (or alkansya)? I don't recommend it kasi coin banks are easier to reach, madaling madudukot at isa pa, hindi tutubo.

5. Be Simple. Live Simple. Be Practical. Just Walk. By living simply and practically, maiiwasan mo ang paggastos ng malaki and even, unnecessary things.

6. Be on the right company. While it's good to spend time with your friends pero huwag kang sumama palagi sa mga night-outs ng mga kaibigan mo lalung-lalo na kung impromptu.

7. Reward Yourself. Just because you cut your expenses, doesn't mean that you should not reward yourself. It's important to reward yourself. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

8. Give. Magbigay ka sa mga taong nangangailangan. I would also like to cite about Tithing -ang pagbibigay ng sampung porsyento ng kita mo sa church voluntarily. It is giving back and honoring Him. But don't limit yourself of giving 10%, you can give more than that. God will bless you kasi nagbibigay ka!

Ito ang dapat tandaan, everything here on Earth is owned by God and He entrusted it to us. Kaya dapat maging good steward or good manager tayo on His wealth.

SmallTalk: Hello Wattpad

A few days ago, I registered to one site that a friend of mine had recommended to me before. It's Wattpad. My friend and I have many things in common and one of them is writing. Currently, she has a couple of stories in Wattpad and also followers.

First Impression. I find Wattpad, cool. There are thousands of stories written by different netizens from all over the world. Of course, there are also few Filipino writers in the website who are writing romantic stories and fan-fictions of their favorite loveteams such as KathNiel and favorite Kpop artists. Anyway, I got a bit confused on how to save a story or a part, edit some things such as the title and cover page and deleting a part.

Moving on, there's an amazing feature that, for the first time, I found it here on Wattpad. You can post your story like a novel. I mean, you can publish your work part-by-part.

The nice thing also about Wattpad is that you can download it on your smart phone as an application. Therefore, you can read stories, write new ones and communicate with your readers anytime and anywhere in your convenience.

I recommend this for those who are fun in writing either fictional or non-fictional stories.

Anyway, if you have Wattpad, please follow me: KenMaru. I published one of my works (and it's still ongoing) there already, so, please check it!
