Dream High

Here is a piece of quote from the series: "Music is the most common language in the world."

Dream High revolves around 6 students from Kirin Arts High School who tries hard to pursue their dreams and achieve a big break in the entertainment industry. To pay for the debts of her father to the loan shark, Hye-mi decides to drop off her dream to become a classical music singer to become a pop music singer. And to become one, she must enroll to Kirin Arts High School, most prestigious music school for aspiring Kpop idols. She auditioned with her friend, Baek-hee but to her dismay, her friend got in. This causes their friendship to break. Fortunately, the president of the school had planned to take her into special admission. But she can go in, if she could recruit the other two students with her. Jin-gook, someone who helped her escape from the loan sharks and Sam-dong, a country bumpkin who has a hidden singing talent.

If there is only one phrase to describe this drama: it's worth it. I must say that yes, it's worth. The time that I spent (16 hours in total in the whole week) didn't give me a single boredom but more reasons to watch this. The comedy is just right. Not much slapsticks, only situations and dialogs. The dramatic scenes are touching. I can't help but to sympathize to the characters who got through different obstacles of their dreams. How about the romantic side, they're cute and simple. The story is inspiring and the message is clear and simple. Since this is music-inclined, I like this. The music/OST are not overused throughout the drama, and no single episodes becomes like a music video.

I dropped this series last year because of the rude and arrogant lead girl. But I continue this year, when I watched a Tagalog dubbed episode at ABS-CBN. To think back now from the past series that I have seen, I never seen a lead girl that is rude and arrogant. This is far from other series to which it's a common perception that lead girl from the start or possibly to the end are either soft and weak, strong and bright or cool and cold on the outside. It's a new ground probably to see this kind of person. Fortunately, her character is becoming lovable. All the characters, actually, are portrayed best. They develop in every episode. Again, I can't help to sympathize with some of the characters when obstacles come on their or a rock on their path but just like Sam-dong said, "If we meet an obstacle, all we have to do is cross it." Their successes are the best to watch. Well, I don't know if I regret or not for delaying watching this a year. One thing's for sure though. I enjoy.

Aside from the quotes above, this another quote has a mark on me:
If you go slowly, you can see a lot more, in more detail, than the people who go quickly. If you ask me who would grow more between those two, I’d say it’s the one who goes slowly and sees a lot.”

Who is K? Secret.
But one thing's for sure,
I want to buy pendant like this
