Note: If you like to watch these movies, don't read this review first. Watch the movie first.
The Magic to Win (Hong Kong)
The plot of the story is simple - the protagonist who inherits magic powers and get dragged into some kind of magic war. There are less fighting scenes/ action scenes in the film as well as comedic scenes. However, the two biggest drawer of the film, probably, is its cast and the special effects.
Moron 5 and the Crying Lady (Philippines)
The first parts of the film were the finest probably because of its comedic input thanks to the Moron 5. Hilarious with the way the Moron 5 are to which the comedy comes from their own dialogs. But later on, it gets a bit boring. The crying lady's finest scene would be how she impersonates characters such as Shaider in just one scene.
Mr. Idol (South Korea)
I could have appreciated the film if only the video is good. I saw this on youtube and I have to take breaks to load/buffer up the video. And also the subs enters earlier than the scene itself. Like Magic to Win, the storyline is simple - all about persons who struggle to become pop stars. Truly, before being a pop star in Korea such as the ones like Super Junior or 2PM is not as easy as just entering a reality show (PBB) or talent show (PGT). Lots of trainings in all aspects were needed such as vocals, dancing and even physical training. Anyway, the movie has some lack elements. It lacks the romantic story line. It also present only one conflict and the rest is all about climbing up to stardom. This is an inspirational movie and kinda reminds me of Dream High.
